  1. Not sure that my business qualifies for a section 179 deduction in 2011, but I’ll tuck away the excellent information you provided in your show for future years. Thanks, Ron.

    • Education about taxes and its components such as depreciation, section 179 and bonus depreciation is very important to small business owners. The amount of taxes you pay can play a big part in whether a small business survives or not. I’ve seen to many business owners that don’t educate themselves about tax issues and end up getting hurt by their decisions.

  2. Thanks for the explanation Ron. It helps me undertand what is going on. I will still need Brangham & Assoc. to do all the hard tax work but it helps to understand how the assets are treated and depreciated.

  3. Thanks for the great information on section 179 and bonus depreciation! It really helps to have this information to understand how assets are treated this year. I know the rules change all the time so it’s great to have someone that can help! Looking forward to your next show.

    • Yes, the rules are constantly changing so it is hard to keep up with these changes even for us professionals, so it is that much harder for the small business owner to know what has changed. That is why it is important to get professional help if you are a small business owner. We have seen many people who have missed out on deductions and thus paid more taxes than they needed to.

  4. Thanks for the great info. As a solo service provider I don’t know anything off-hand that I would purchase that might qualify – although I could use the “Section 179 Deduction” reason with the Mrs. to buy the Bentley GT for my business!

Looking forward to the next show.

    • Todd, check out my next show for depreciation, section 179 and bonus depreciation for vehicles because there are limits on vehicles and the purchase of the Bentley might not look so good. And you should usually listen to the Mrs. anyways.
